Royce courted Rosalie and gave her bouquets of flowers-violets because he thought they matched her eyes and roses for her name, Rosalie. Without delay, Royce proposed to Rosalie and she accepted due to her vanity not knowing Royce only loved her for he

r beauty. Royce bragged to his friends about how beautiful Rosalie was and so naturally they wanted him to show them. So when Rosalie was returning home one night after visiting her friend Vera, the men ganged up on her, beat, and raped her, leaving Rosalie left for dead in the street.

BIO: Gianna

Name: Gianna

About Them: Gianna is a human "secretary" who works for the ancient Volturi. She knows exactly what they do and hopes one day to join them and become a vampire by gaining their graces. She runs all of their errands and does their beckoning call. Gianna is a beautiful for a human but falls far short as being beautiful according to the vampires. She has green eyes and brunette hair. She is thought to be an idiot by Bella, Edward , and Alice due to her trying to gain the favor of vampires just to be on. However, Gianna does not get what she longs for as she is killed by the Volturi for food.

Their Early History: Being human, there is no past for Gianna. Only the future lies ahead of her. Although her end happens at the hands of the Volturi around the end of Breaking Dawn when it is alluded that they kill her (Stephenie Meyer confirmed this in an interview).

BIO: Harry Clearwater

Name: Harry Clearwater

About Them: Harry Clearwater was an elder of the Quileute tribe who dies of a heart attack in New Moon. His family consists of Sue, his wife, and children Leah and Seth. Once Bella discovers Jacob's transformation into a werewolf,Harry helps keep Charlie Swan safe for Bella by inviting Charlie over at the reservation. The day Bella throws herself off of the cliff Harry suffered a fatal heart attack. Known for his "famous fish fries" Harry was a close friend of Charlie Swan as they were old fishing buddies who couldn't be separated. He jokingly dealt with his habit of eating badly which caused his high cholesterol and was able to put the people around him at ease.

BIO: Renee

Name: Renée Dwyer

About Them: Renée Dwyer married her high school sweet heart, Charlie Swan, right after high school. But it was not a fairy tale marriage as Renée left with their baby, Bella, and divorced Charlie soon after. Renée is an eccentric, silly woman who will brave any new thing (like skydiving) and come to her senses later. Bella always felt that she was the mother of their relationship, having to guide Renée away from doing ridiculous things, and Renée thought of Bella as her middle-aged child. After Renée remarries a much younger baseball player, Phil Dwyer, Bella unselfishly sends herself to live with her dad in Forks so that Renée and Phil can travel together. Edward describes Renée's mind as being incredibly insightful and almost childlike. Renée believes Bella to be more mature than other teenagers her age and gives Bella and Edward her blessing for their marriage. Bella says she and her mother look alike, but that Renée has shorter hair and laugh lines. Renée originally moved to Phoenix, Arizona after her divorce from Charlie, but then moves to Jacksonville, Florida with Phil. Bella says in Twilight that her mother is her best friend. After Bella becomes a vampire she doesn't contact her mother, knowing Renée couldn't handle her change like Charlie could.

Name: Tyler Crowley

About Them: Tyler Crowley is one of Bella Swan’s classmates. In Twilight he nearly hits Bella with his van when he hit an ice patch in the school parking lot, but Bella is saved by Edward. Afterward, Tyler is desperate to make it up to her and bombards her with constant apologies and asks Bella to prom, to which she refuses ardently. He however mistakenly assumes she will go to the prom with him and tells the rest of the school. Only when he hears from Edward that Bella will be unavailable to anyone but himself does Tyler get the point. His constant attention towards Bella causes Lauren, who is interested in Tyler, to resent Bella. Lauren’s hatred towards Bella only grows during the saga and causes a rift between the two friends.

Bio: Mike Newton

Name: Mike Newton

About Them: Mike Newton is one of the over friendly boys who initially has a crush on Bella when she arrives at Forks High School. However, as with the rest of the boys, Bella does not return his affections. In Twilight Mike often asks Bella to accompany him on dates, and as always, Bella declines with some sort of excuse or reason. He has a strong dislike for Edward Cullen which he allows to fester. It is with Mike and a group of friends in that Bella goes to First Beach, where she meets Jacob Black and learns/figures out that Edward is a vampire. Later on Mike goes to the movies with Jacob and Bella and tries hard to compete against Jacob for Bella's attention. Mike's family owns a local sporting goods store, which serves as Bella's only job in the series. Mike and Jessica date for a time in Twilight but break up partially due to Mike’s continually infatuation with Bella. Mike and Jessica are together again at Bella and Edward's wedding in Breaking Dawn, where Edward comments that "Mike's having difficulty with improper thoughts about a married woman."

BIO: Jared

Name: Jared

About Them: Jared is a member of Jacob's werewolf pack. He was the next werewolf to phase after the pack's physical leader, Sam Uley. Of only five werewolves know to the Twilight readers the imprint, Jared is one of them. After first phasing he imprinted on Kim, a girl he sat next to in one of his classes. Kim before the imprinting had already had a massive crush on Jared and before he was a werewolf he never paid any attention to her. After his transformation, he took one look at Kim and he had imprinted. As a werewolf Jared has brown hair, is gigantic, and is one of the swiftest werewolves. Jared was a part of the battle with Victoria's army of young vampires but was not seriously hurt. It was Jared that had the task of trying to convice Jacob, Seth, and Leah to come back into Sam's pack after Jacob left in Breaking Dawn when Sam ordered an attack on the Cullen family.

BIO: Emily Young

Name: Emily Young

About Them: Emily Young is Sam Uley's fiancée and second cousin to Leah Clearwater. Sam Uley imprinted upon Emily when she was visiting her Leah and he began pursuing her. Emily has copper skin, raven black hair, and three long disfiguring scars running down the right side of her face and down her arms as the result of Sam phasing into a wolf too close to her. The left side of her face is extremely beautiful revealing her former beauty before the scars. These scars pull one of her almond shaped eyes down and also tug on the side of her mouth, causing her to have a scowl on one side of her face. Emily, however, bears no resentment towards Sam or any other members of the pack. Emily works tireless for the Sam and the other members of the wolf pack: cooking them meals and being supportive. Bella also comes under Emily's wing a little as Bella spends her day with Jacob during New Moon.

Name: Quil Ateara

About Them: Quil Ateara is a member of the werewolf pack and Jacob's "wing man". Quil was ecstatic about phasing into werewolf unlike most of the pack. Since it allowed him to finally have his friends back and understand what was going on Quil had no reservations. Quil is one of the five wolves of the pack to imprint during the saga. Quil to some scandalous effect, imprinted on Emily's two-year-old niece, Claire. After Jacob explains that there is currently nothing romantic about it, and how Quil will be whatever Claire needs him to be at each point in her life, whether it be a brother, a friend, a protector, or a lover, readers understand the imprinting relationship better. Quil has dark skin, black hair, an impish grin, a buzz cut, and is tall and burly. As a wolf he has chocolate brown fur.

BIO: Embry

Name: Embry Call

About Them: Embry Call is a close friend of Jacob Black throughout most of the Twilight Saga. As a werewolf he has gray fur with dark spots along his back. He is one of Jacob's "wingmen" and offers his whole support in favor of Jacob. It is Embry that calls Bella Swan the nickname "vampire girl" due to her dealings and time spent with the Cullen family. Embry's mom was of the Makah tribe, not the Quileutes. To be a werewolf the traits had to be inherited from father of the Quileute tribe-this caused people to realize he was the half-brother of either Quil Ateara, Jacob Black, or Sam Uley. This immediate revelation after Embry's turning into a werewolf caused stress within the pack since all boys' fathers were married before and at the time of Embry's birth. We never find out who his father is.

BIO: Paul

Name: Paul

About Them: Paul doesn't control his anger well which leads to his angry outbursts which cause him to burst into his wolf form. One of the larger wolves, he is the most volatile members of the pack. When a wolf Paul has dark gray fur. Paul becomes so enraged when he hears that Jacob told Bella about the pack that he quickly turns into a wolf and attempts to attack Bella. In general Paul has no hard feelings towards Bella or Jacob but he strongly believes in the pack first. In Breaking Dawn we find that Paul has imprinted on Jacob's older sister, Rachel. This is to the annoyance of Billy and Jacob as Paul eats them house and home, yet, Billy is happy that Rachel is staying at home longer from school because of Paul.

BIO: Sam Uley

About Them: Sam Uley is the leader of the La Push werewolf pack. His father was, Joshua Uley who abandoned him and his mother when Sam was just a child. Before his transformation into a werewolf Sam was romantically involved with Leah Clearwater, who had been his high school sweetheart. After his transformation their relationship began to unravel as he was forbidden to tell Leah what he had become. Their relationship came to an abrupt halt when Sam imprinted on Leah's second cousin, Emily Young, and began to go back on every promise he had ever made to Leah. Jacob Black during the saga says that Sam feels guilty for betraying Leah feels responsible for the bitter person Leah later becomes. As a wolf Sam is pure black and the largest wolf since he phased/transformed first before the rest of the pack. In Breaking Dawn we are told that Jacob has grown taller than Sam showing. While Sam acts as the packs Alpha that is not his role by blood-this is why Jacob eventually grows larger than Sam as he is the leader of the pack by blood. Jacob shys from that responsibility until Breaking Dawn. In Breaking Dawn Sam becomes annoyed with the Cullen family and quickly judging plans to attack the Cullens on their territory when he believes that the Cullens have changed Bella Swan into a vampire going back on their ancient promise. This is what prompts Jacob to step up to his job as Alpha.

Name: Billy Black

About Them: Billy Black is Jacob Black's father, was born and raised in La Push, Washington, and is an elder of the Quileute tribe. Billy Black is described as being heavyset, having a wrinkled face and russet skin. He is confined to his wheelchair due to his diabetes and has black hair and black eyes. His other family members include his two twin daughters, Rachel and Rebecca, and his deceased wife, Sarah. Billy Black is a direct descended from the last chief of the Quileute tribe, Ephraim Black, who was his grandfather and leader of the last werewolf pack. One of Billy's best friends in Forks, Washington is Charlie Swan. During the saga Billy bribes Jacob to try to convince Bella to break up with Edward and warns Bella in other various ways to stay away from the Cullen family. He is a quiet, respectful man with a big heart. Few things escape his watchful eyes and understanding glare. He keeps Bella away from Jacob during his transformation but cannot keep them apart once Bella knows what is happening.

Name: Angela Webber

About Them: Angela Weber is a classmate of Bella Swan who is described as being a tall, shy, quiet, and very kind and considerate girl. Edward with his ability to read minds see that Angela is one of the few of Bella's newly acquired "friends" that is not planning on using Bella's new girl appeal to their own popularity advantage. She has light brown hair and soft brown eyes. She respects the space of others, a characteristic that is very much appreciated by Bella, and has a very gentle disposition. She is a good listener and offers unbiased advice due to her nature of truly caring for others. Angela plays a minor role in Twilight, but becomes very good friends with Bella during the events of Eclipse. She has a strong relationship with her boyfriend, Ben Cheney. She is a safe haven for Bella to run to when she needs some girl time without the overwhelming curiosity that comes from the other girls. About Them: Jessica Stanley is a classmate of Bella Swan and her first friend in Forks, Washington. She is the one eager to spill all of the “news” about the Cullen family and inform Bella about them on her first day at school. Jessica has a shallow personality that is centered around herself and is more interested in Bella's popularity as the new girl than Bella's actual character and person. Jessica is sometimes very jealous of Mike's unwanted affections toward Bella. Jessica finally does get Mike to go out with her but the relationship is rocky at best and dos not last. In Midnight Sun, Edward over hears in Jessica’s head that her thoughts toward Bella are actually quite rude-showing that she only befriended Bella to share in her attention due to being the “shinny new toy.” Jessica is known as a "chatterbox" and has curly dark hair. She and Bella have a falling out in New Moon due to Bella's depression over Edward's departure as Jessica thinks Bella should come to grips instead of consoling her as a friend. However, their friendship ends on a good note at graduation during. Jessica appears briefly as a guest at Bella and Edward's wedding, which she attends with Mike.

About Them: Charlie Swan is the father of Bella Swan and works as the chief police officer in Forks, Washington. His hobbies include fishing with Harry Clearwater and Billy Black, as well as watching various sports, mostly baseball and basketball, on TV. Charlie married his high school sweetheart, Bella's mother Renée, just after they both graduated high school. They had Bella within the year but their marriage was rocky. Renée divorced Charlie not long after Bella's birth and moved to Phoenix, Arizona, along with little Bella. Despite the divorce, Charlie was still in love with Renée, but had gotten past the fact that she did not love him anymore.

He slowly became accustomed to living alone, except when Bella started to visit him in the summer. When Bella was seventeen, she moved to Forks, Washington to live with Charlie. Initially, Charlie is accepting of Edward as his daughter's boyfriend, but after the events in Twilight and New Moon he blames Edward for Bella's stunt "move" to Phoenix and the deep depression that Bella went into after Edward left her. Charlie is forever grateful to Jacob because he was a great and close friend to Bella during her difficult times, and Charlie makes it clear that he'd rather Bella choose Jacob over Edward. When Bella and Edward agree to tell Charlie about their engagement he reluctantly agrees to the marriage as long as Renée agreed. Charlie continues to stay in Bella's life after her transformation although he does not know it until he is invited to come and see his granddaughter, Renesmee. At the end of the saga Charlie and Sue Clearwater appear to have developed a romantic relationship.

BIO: Jacob Black

About Them: Jacob Black is Bella's best friend from New Moon and on. He is a Quileute Native American and a werewolf-although later revealed to be a shape-shifter as he doesn't transform on the full moon. In Twilight, Jacob plays a minor role, being a forgotten childhood friend of Bella's. In an attempt to learn more about Cullens, Bella flirts with Jacob, and he tells her tribe legends about them being "the cold ones", or vampires. After Edward leaves Bella in New Moon, Bella spends much of her time with Jacob, trying to heal her broken heart and move on. Though at first only a friend, Jacob later falls in love with Bella. Although he spends most of his time in Eclipse trying to win Bella, but it proves to only create more tensions in their already fragile relationship. In Breaking Dawn he imprints —an involuntary process in which a werewolf finds their soul mate— on Bella and Edward's daughter, Renesmee. Bella is furious a Jacob for imprinting, but comes to terms with it towards the end of the book. Known for his tall stature-which escalates after his transformation-and dark good looks, Jacob easily is a charm and comfort to Bella when she has to deal with her loss of Edward in New Moon. Jacob is sensitive and compassionate, which allows him to fall for Bella. As a werewolf Jacob grows quickly passing the Alpha, Sam Uley, which brings to the readers attention that Jacob is the true blood Alpha. Jacob, however, does not want this responsibility until Bella's life is in danger due to a decision made by Sam in Breaking Dawn. As a wolf Jacob's coat is a rusty brown.

Their Early History: Werewolves in the Twilight universe do not age, as long as they regularly phase into wolves. They heal quickly, have enhanced physical speed and strength, and can communicate telepathically with each other while in their wolf forms. It is later revealed that the Quileute tribe "werewolves" are not true werewolves because they don't transform according to the lunar cycle. Instead, they are shape-shifters who take the form of wolves, while the "Children of the Moon" were considered true werewolves.

About Them: Isabella "Bella" Marie Swan, later Isabella Marie Cullen, is an average, clumsy, accident-prone girl who moves from Phoenix, Arizona, to Forks, Washington, to live with her father, Charlie. Though many boys are attracted to her when she arrives, she falls in love with Edward Cullen, a mysterious boy she discovers to be a vampire. Desperate not to lose him, Bella vows to stay with Edward, even if it means turning into a vampire herself, despite Edward's wishes. In an effort to keep her safe, he leaves the town of Forks. Jacob Black, a werewolf from the Quileute tribe and the son of Bella's father's best friend, comforts her in that time and Bella falls in love with him as well.

Bella is described as an understanding, caring, serious, shy, and intelligent person, with a very dry sense of humor, and is noted for being very clumsy, and also stubborn. She has a very private mind, which is thought to be why Edward is unable to see her thoughts, and she is determined to become a vampire. She is also said to be terrible at lying, but occasionally demonstrates good acting ability. Bella becomes faint at the smell of blood, though this does not bother her once she becomes a vampire — this trait may also be the reason why Bella does not hunger for blood as strongly as most newborn vampires.

After Bella is changed into a vampire by Edward Cullen in Breaking Dawn, she becomes very beautiful-her already pale skin becoming even whiter, her hair becoming darker, and her lips becoming fuller. After her transformation she has the ability to shield her and others' minds from mental attacks. With her newfound ability, it is also discovered that Bella is incredibly self-controlled, much to the astonishment of the whole Cullen family-mostly Jasper. Bella learns to remove the shield from her own mind with the help of Kate, another vampire, and surprises Edward one night with all of her thoughts he has always missed out on.

Bella is described in the novels as being pale-skinned with brown hair and eyes, and a heart shaped face. Beyond this, a detailed description of her appearance is never given in the series. Stephenie Meyer explains that she "left out a detailed description of Bella in the book so that the reader could more easily step into her shoes." While Meyer stresses that "Bella's looks are open to interpretation", she does supply her own personal interpretation on her website, describing Bella as: "very fair-skinned, with long, straight, dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her face is heart-shaped—a wide forehead with a widow's peak, large, wide-spaced eyes, prominent cheekbones, and then a thin nose and a narrow jaw with a pointed chin. Her lips are a little out of proportion, a bit too full for her jaw line. Her eyebrows are darker than her hair and more straight than they are arched. She's five foot four inches tall, slender but not at all muscular, and weighs about 115 pounds. She has stubby fingernails because she has a nervous habit of biting them." Stephenie Meyer has stated that Bella's "tragic flaw" in Eclipse is her lack of self-knowledge. After being turned into a vampire, she describes having a more clear view of the world.
