Rob Promises ‘New Moon’ Looks ‘Amazing’, Talks About Next Movie
MTV spoke with Rob backstage at the MTV Movie Awards. Here’s the article.
If you don’t think Robert Pattinson is the hottest movie star in the world, there were 7,000 people inside the Gibson Amphitheatre and millions more all over the world who would have disagreed with you on Sunday.
As the star of “Twilight,” Rob was part of the team that dominated the MTV Movie Awards, trading in his eardrums for a Breakthrough Male Performance trophy and announcing his arrival as a Hollywood superstar.
When RPattz wasn’t getting faked out by Kristen Stewart, hit on by Jim Carrey or talking about whatever was in his pants, he took a moment to give a backstage interview to MTV News during the show. Grins were exchanged, hair was tousled and upcoming projects were discussed.
MTV: Rob, you won Best Fight tonight. How did it feel up there on stage?
Robert Pattinson: It made me feel really tough; really hard. I don’t think I’ve ever won a fight in my life, so it was cool.
MTV: And it must have been nice to be up there with Cam Gigandet again.
Pattinson: Yeah, Cam won. That’s crazy that he’s won two years in a row.
MTV: A year ago, people barely knew you guys when you attended the MTV Movie Awards. What’s the biggest difference you see as far as the chaos, the fans, the reception?
Pattinson: I mean, it’s completely polar-opposite. I didn’t even think anyone knew who I was last year.
MTV: We’re about to debut the “New Moon” trailer. Give us your reaction to it.
Pattinson: I haven’t seen it yet.
MTV: You haven’t?
Pattinson: This will be my first time seeing it.
MTV: Well, I’m sure you’ve seen the 15-second preview online, where you’re kissing Kristen, right?
Pattinson: I haven’t seen anything! I mean, from what I’ve seen from playback and stuff when I’ve been shooting it, it looks amazing. So I think ["New Moon"] should be [good]. I’m keeping it as a surprise from myself.
MTV: Are you going to have time to shoot anything before “Eclipse”? What are you going to shoot next?
Pattinson: I am. As yet, it’s still untitled, at the moment, but I’m going on Monday to start shooting it. It’s a kind of drama, love-story kind of thing. It’s cool; it’s a really great script.

Taylor Lautners Post-'Twilight' Plan
So let's break down the three leading contenders following a surprising meeting the lad had in Hollywood yesterday!
The on-screen incarnation of Jacob Black was seen leaving a meeting with Hollywood heavyweight producer/writer/director Garry Marshall ("Pretty Woman," "Beaches," "Overboard"). I did a little digging and found three films currently on Garry's plate -- lets figure out which one Taylor was there to talk about!
Potential Film #1: "Valentine's Day"I first talked about this upcoming big screen ensemble mid-May and think this is the most likely option. It's an ensemble rom-com starring Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher. I'm assuming Taylor is in talks to play Anne's mail room assistant boyfriend since she's the most age-appropriate on-screen lovah.
Potential Film #2 -- "Dear Eleanor"The story of two 14-year-old girls who travel across American during the '60s amid the Cuban Missile Crisis. Abagail Breslin might play Max the Wax, one of the leading ladies, who finds herself crossing paths with a variety of colorful characters. Taylor could play one of the vaudeville performers, or any other assorted potential love interest for either of the ladies.
Potential Film #3 -- "There Goes the Neighborhood"A dark comedy about a run-of-the-mill couple who learn their apple pie neighbor and his kids are a little too friendly and find themselves forced to defend their house with their lives. Taylor could play one of the creepy kids, whose smiley exterior masks a much more insidious agenda. The riskiest role of the three, but the gamble could pay off in a big way if it shows Hollywood he's more than a pretty face.

Eclipse Filming Schedule NOT Confirmed, More Casting Info
THIS IS OUR 200TH POST!!
Despite reports that Eclipse will begin filming in August, no exact date is set in stone yet. The filming schedule is “still being drafted” according to Lainey Gossip. Also according to Lainey, the following characters have been added to the casting process–Maria-”Maria found Jasper during the Southern vampire wars. At this point, Jasper was a major in the Confederate Army, and Maria was looking for humans that she could turn to vampires to create a newborn army, using the idea pioneered by Benito. After turning Jasper, she found that he was extremely useful to her, because he was able to control the emotions of the vampires around him, and make them work together. In Eclipse, Maria is described as a tiny brunette with a soft and musical voice that has a tendency to be sharp. She was able to control her thirst, though she still preyed humans’ blood. ”
Bree-”Bree was created by Victoria as part of her newborn vampire army to avenge James’ death. She never saw Victoria, as her “assistant”, Riley, was the one who told the newborns what to do. Bree was described as beautiful and slender with short dark hair to her chin and glowing blood red eyes. She was also very young, around the age of 15 and the height was around 5′1″ and 5′3″. When she screams Bree has a high, shrill voice.
Royce King–”Royce King II was a human who lived during the time of the Great Depression. He was engaged to Rosalie Hale for a short period of time before being killed by her. He is perceived as being quite out-spoken but is liked by Rosalie because of her vanity.”
Note that the descriptions I’ve used are from the TwiWiki, and are not the official summaries from the casting process.

Kristen Stewart: On Dropping the Famous Popcorn at the MTV Movie Awards 09
Case in point: Her strange, distracted acceptance speech for Best Female Performance at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards. It was a stammering, nervous mess that culminated in the young star dropping her golden popcorn statue on the stage.
Kristen's behavior at the Movie Awards instantly started the rumor mill spinning with bloggers and armchair psychiatrists ridiculously misdianosing her with everything from nervous system disorders to substance abuse. But, says her Twilight co-star Peter Facinelli, that's just how she is.
"I think that’s just Kristen," Peter told OK! at the NYC premiere of his new Showtime series, Nurse Jackie. "She has that kind of shaky leg syndrome because she always looks a little nervous. But to sweep the awards like that… If that doesn’t build confidence, I don’t know what does."
As for what's going on with the much-awaited sequel, New Moon, Peter explained that the shooting part is done and it's all now in the hands of the post-production team. "Now they put it all together — Hopefully, put all the good parts together — and make a good movie," he said. "I’m excited to actually see it. There’s a lot of the CGI stuff that, as an actor, you don’t get to see.
"What was his reaction to seeing the first trailer for the film on Sunday? "I got to see that for the first time, I had chills," he confessed. "Is that really bad to say that you had chills during your own movie? Because I’m a fan of the books, too. It’s pretty cool. I’ve had that image of Jacob running and stepping and leaping into the air and turning into a werewolf for ages, and now I got to see it on screen. That was pretty cool."

New Moon is going to be a "heartbreaker"
If you've read the books, you'll know what Taylor means. But I really think that because we're you know, seeing it visually in a movie rather than in our heads reading a book, it's going to be even more heartbreaking... when Edward leaves Bella..
Twilight sequel New Moon is set to be a heartbreaking film, according to star Taylor Lautner.
"There is heart break and, oh it's horrible," the actor, who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the franchise, told Access Hollywood.
"New Moon will rip your heart to shreds. So get ready!"
Taylor and co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart introduced the trailer for the second hotly anticipated movie at the MTV awards on Sunday.
The film sees Jacob transform into a werewolf, which turned out to be a bit of an ordeal, according to the actor.
"I was shirtless, all I was wearing was shorts. We were in 35-degree weather," he said.
"They poured rain on us, which is like iced cold. And the scene was like four minutes long and I'm just sitting there and you can't look cold. I'm the only one. I'm just standing there like basically naked with everybody like bundled up in this ice cold weather."

New Moon Trailer viewed a whopping 5.8 million times in 24 hours
The New Moon trailer is seeing huge viewership numbers online, Nikki Finke reports–
Summit Entertainment has a count of 4.2 million views for the New Moon trailer from MySpace, and another 1.6 million from MTV.com, so that’s 5.8 million combined views in the first 24 hours from its two domestic online launch partners. By comparison, the 3rd (and last) trailer for Twilight received 3.2 million views in its first 48 hours on MySpace, piddling compared to viewership for the sequel’s trailer.
This number doesn’t even include all the versions uploaded to YouTube–including the one New Moon Movie added with the permission of Summit–so the actual number is even higher.
Paramore says "No" to New Moon Soundtrack
According to Paramore drummer Zac Farro,
Speaking to Billboard, the 18-year-old who celebrates his 19th birthday tomorrow, revealed: “It was really fun to be a part of that, and great exposure, but I think Twilight was it for us. We don’t want to seem like we’re trying to get in every single movie they put out.” He adds: “We don’t want to be, like, the vampire house band.”
Paramore was up for an MTV Movie Award this weekend for the song “Decode” from the Twilight soundtrack, but they lost out to Miley Cyrus and her Hannah Montana movie.

BFF Drama: Is Ashley the new Nikki?
Eonline scooper dishes...While basically the whole Twilight cast was busy at the MTV Movie Awards cleaning up shop, there were a couple of castmembers noticeably absent. Jackson Rathbone wasn't there because he was doing his music thing, but where was Nikki Reed?
You'd think the self-professed jobless gal would have jumped at the chance to fit the awards show into her schedule.
Unless there were bigger names who didn't want her there. Or maybe Nik just preferred to keep taking the quasi-high road and stay out of the way of Robsten. Even though Ms. Reed claims she and Kristen Stewart are fine, actions (and passive aggressive PR moves) speak louder than words, babes!
Well, it seems like all the Rob-related tension has only been working in Ashley Greene's favor.Even though Ash said she didn't really hang with Kris much in Vancouver, the two got über-close near the end of filming in VBC and over in Italy. You could even see them hanging all over each other onstage when accepting for Best Movie. This is so a turn of events here, people—these two gals never really chilled during the filming of Twilight.
Well, much like the entire cast's bedroom doors, friends rotate on set, too, and right now Nikki is so out and Ashley is so in when it comes to Kristen's fave gal costar.
This means tons of things for Ms. Greene. Tons. Now that she's positioning herself as a bestie with the Twi powerhouse, get ready for tons of goss to start dropping about her.
I wondered too why Nikki seems to be missing in Italy. She said she'll gonna be there just to hang out with the cast (even Kellan too), hmmm...
