The Character
Name: Maria
Type: Vampire
Special Ability: None
About Them: Maria is only mentioned in Eclipse as a part of Jasper's past. Jasper recalls Maria as a tiny brunette with a soft and musical voice that had a tendency to be sharp. Maria was a very mature and able vampire was she was able to control her thirst even though she still preyed on humans' blood.
Their Early History: All that we know of Maria is her early history as Jasper has not had contact with her in a long time. Jasper was a major in the Confederate Army and Maria was looking for humans that she could turn to vampires to create a newborn army when their lives first became entwined. After turning Jasper, Maria found him extremely useful because he was able to control the emotions of the vampires around him. With Jasper and her sisters, Nettie and Lucy, Maria was able to take over numerous territories previously held by other vampires in Mexico. Maria eventually destroyed her own sisters, Nettie and Lucy, when they rebelled. Jasper later ran away with two other members of Maria's army, Peter and Charlotte, due to Maria's ruthless rule. After Jasper left we do not know what happens to Maria, although, there are indications that she is still alive.
BIO: Riley
Name: Riley
Type: Vampire
Special Ability: None
About Them: Riley was among the first humans that Victoria changed into a vampire as she formed her army. Victoria convinced Riley that she loved him and convinced him to serve her faithfully. Riley's job consisted of corralling the other new vampires, telling them what their mission was, and what they were supposed to do. It was Riley who came into Bella's room to get her scent in Eclipse and spared Charlie's life because he was mature enough to resist a human's blood. It was Riley that had to face Edward in the clearing. Edward tried to convince him to give up the fight by telling him that Victoria really only still loved her dead mate James, but Victoria’s grip on Riley's was too strong. Riley then tried to attack Edward, but Seth Clearwater got to Riley before he could and together Seth and Edward killed Riley.

Carlisle planned to spare Bree's life, but she was killed by Felix on Jane's orders for breaking the Volturi's laws. After Bree had surrendered and before the Volturi arrived, Bree tried to resist Bella's blood as she strived to adapt to Carlisle's way of life. Bree was described as beautiful, slender, short dark hair to her chin, and very young, around the age of 13 or 14.

Riley Has Been Cast For Eclipse!
Thursday, July 16, 2009

That's right, folks! Xavier Samuel has been cast as Riley in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Here's an article that confirms it. And GUESS WHAT! He's AUSTRALIAN! YAYY! You go dude!
So this is what the face of an impressionable lad turned corrupted bloodsucker looks like.It looks fang-licking good if you ask us!
Summit Entertainment has tapped Australian newcomer Xavier Samuel to play Riley in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the burgeoning franchise based on Stephenie Meyer's megaselling novels, according to the Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business blog.
As fans of the series know, Riley starts off as a plain, old human college student, only to fall under the spell of the increasingly vengeful Victoria and, as a newborn vampire, join her crusade against Bella.
Among the names bandied about for the Riley role were Tom "Draco Malfoy" Felton and Channing Tatum, whom Meyer once said would play the part "beautifully."
Well, we think Samuel's doing beautifully so far...
Eclipse is expected to start shooting sometime next month in Vancouver in time for its June 30, 2010 release, while Twilight fans are expected to go into overdrive any day now as they await the Nov. 20 arrival of New Moon.
(Then theres this article from Just Jared.)
Australian baby face Xavier Samuel has been cast in Eclipse, the third flick in the Twilight franchise.
“I don’t have any facial hair, so it will be a while before I play the gruff leading man,” Xavier has said. “Maybe one day I’ll get to play my actual age. For now my baby face has condemned me to play the teenager.”
According to THR, Xavier, 25, will play newborn vampire Riley, a good-looking college student who joins the plot of villain Victoria to murder protagonist Bella (Kristen Stewart). Riley is corrupted by Victoria, for whom he has an inexplicable weakness.
Eclipse stars shooting next month in Vancouver.
WHAT DO YOU THINK of Twilight’s latest star — HOT or NOT?

Breaking Dawn to be Filmed Right After Eclipse!
According to Ashley Greene, Breaking Dawn will be filming soon after Eclipse–
“We’re going to start right after Eclipse,” says Ash.
So will we see any repeat directors for the fourth film?
“I don’t think so,” says Ms. Greene. “[Eclipse director] David [Slade] and [New Moon director] Chris [Weitz] will both be busy in post-production, and Catherine [Hardwicke] will be doing Hamlet.”
It doesn’t come as much a surprise that they’ll be pumping out the series as fast as they can make ‘em, but it’s still great to get confirmation. Read more about Breaking Dawn at E!

Director David Slade talks 'Eclipse'
Sunday, June 14, 2009
"What will differ about Slade’s Twilight?
“I don’t really know. We haven’t even started shooting yet.”
While the director says he has a basic idea of what he wants to do with it, he is more concerned with telling a good story than being “different.”
“It is darker, and there is a lot more action than the previous two,” he admits. “The third book is from Bella’s point of view, but the film will be more objective.”
And just how will he do that? “We are going to focus on the origin stories of several characters, like Jacob, and show how Bella will decide between Edward and Jacob.”
David didn’t read the books until the studio was interested in bringing him in – then he did his homework.
“It was tough for a middle-aged man to get into,” he admits, “since they are written for 15-year-old girls. But once I got past that, I found them to be quite good books, and a great story.”
He is especially excited about the great script from Dexter writer/producer Melissa Rosenberg. Right now, they are still in preproduction, with plans to start shooting later in the year."

Jackson Rathbone can't wait for 'Eclipse'
Saturday, June 13, 2009
Jackson Rathbone was asked why they didn’t get much into his backstory during New Moon, and he told TeenMag–
"“Well it doesn’t really come out too much in the book. It’s one of those things were it’s understood but in the third book it really comes out like the back story and everything.“I think one of the things we didn’t want to get too much into was focusing on all the other vampires.
“We wanted really to establish this relationship and how she (Bella) gets sucked into the world of the Cullen family and once she’s in the world that’s when things kind of start coming out.
“One of the things about Jasper is he doesn’t use the ability all the time. It’s something that he’s very strict about using because it’s like an invasion of privacy to to make someone feel something, to manipulate emotions.”"

Bella's House On Lockdown!
Monday, June 8, 2009
The building that was erected to serve as Bella’s house for New Moon in the Vancouver area is now under 24/7 surveillance, and has a newly erected chain link fence with barbed wire at the top to deter would-be intruders. It looks like they’re taking security very seriously in order to protect the sets till Eclipse films.

Eclipse Filming Schedule NOT Confirmed, More Casting Info
Wednesday, June 3, 2009
THIS IS OUR 200TH POST!!
Despite reports that Eclipse will begin filming in August, no exact date is set in stone yet. The filming schedule is “still being drafted” according to Lainey Gossip. Also according to Lainey, the following characters have been added to the casting process–Maria-”Maria found Jasper during the Southern vampire wars. At this point, Jasper was a major in the Confederate Army, and Maria was looking for humans that she could turn to vampires to create a newborn army, using the idea pioneered by Benito. After turning Jasper, she found that he was extremely useful to her, because he was able to control the emotions of the vampires around him, and make them work together. In Eclipse, Maria is described as a tiny brunette with a soft and musical voice that has a tendency to be sharp. She was able to control her thirst, though she still preyed humans’ blood. ”
Bree-”Bree was created by Victoria as part of her newborn vampire army to avenge James’ death. She never saw Victoria, as her “assistant”, Riley, was the one who told the newborns what to do. Bree was described as beautiful and slender with short dark hair to her chin and glowing blood red eyes. She was also very young, around the age of 15 and the height was around 5′1″ and 5′3″. When she screams Bree has a high, shrill voice.
Royce King–”Royce King II was a human who lived during the time of the Great Depression. He was engaged to Rosalie Hale for a short period of time before being killed by her. He is perceived as being quite out-spoken but is liked by Rosalie because of her vanity.”
Note that the descriptions I’ve used are from the TwiWiki, and are not the official summaries from the casting process.

Jacob to be even more buff in Eclipse
Monday, June 1, 2009
"Jacob's character is continually growing throughout the series," Lautner told PEOPLE at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night, "so I got about eight weeks off before I go back again for Eclipse and I'm going to be hitting the gym."
Lautner, 17, already beefed up considerably for his role as the shape shifting werewolf Jacob Black in New Moon after brief behind-the-scenes debate over whether the role should be recast. He said he'll be getting bigger and bigger "until the end of the series," but he looks forward to returning to his normal size.
"When we're done with the Twilight films I'll definitely bulk down and just get lean again because I don't want to stay big and bulky."
"It's insane!" costar Ashley Greene said of Lautner's new build. "I was going through my phone and looking at all the pictures, and there's one from the wrap party that we did here after the first one and it's incredible. I was like, 'Taylor, did you see this?' He was like, 'Oh my gosh.' He gained 30 lbs. He's not a little kid anymore."
In recent photos from the New Moon set star Robert Pattinson also showed off some impressively chiseled abs, and costar Kellan Lutz said they were achieved without any airbrushed shadows – in fact, Lutz takes some tongue-in-cheek credit for Pattinson's six-pack.
"I've been training him, I've been training Taylor," he insisted straight-faced, but promised that there's no fitness competition among the men of New Moon – at least on his part. "I'm the tallest one and so I'll stick with that trait."
And, here I thought I have seen enough of Taylor's biceps... :) Good thing he still looks cute.

Casting for Eclipse is underway
Director David Slade is looking for someone to play...
Riley "is a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to Victoria," the notice reads. He's in his early to mid 20s and "plays an integral role in Victoria's attempt to murder Bella Swan."
There are two more members of the Quileute tribe and La Push wolf pack in Eclipse. Like New Moon, they are looking for Native American or First Nations actors to fill the roles.
"Seth Clearwater is a "tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin," the notice reads. "Seth idolizes Jacob."
Seth's big sister is 19-year-old Leah Clearwater and the only female member of La Push: "She is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair. She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues."
Whoever may play these characters, however small roles they are, they are still poignant to the flow of the story. Will Leah be played by Vanessa Hudgens? I seriously hope not! And who will play our beloved Seth? I hope they choose him right! And Channing Tatum as Riley? I'm not so sure...

And so 'Eclipse' commences!
Friday, May 8, 2009
"Around the same time Slade came, Peter Facinelli left. We were actually on the same flight to Vegas. Not sure where he was going. I sat across the aisle from him. He was lovely to fans who approached for photos in the terminal and the only other remarkable detail I can give you is that while I was trying to write The Outcast book review, he was givin’er on his iPod, playing some game that required furious tapping and scrolling and shaking. It was distracting and hilarious and adorable, especially when he became extra spastic with the controller."

David Slade Fights for Eclipse
Tuesday, May 5, 2009
Take a look at what Summit Entertainment posted to Twilight Lexicon to tell us Twilight Fans.
In any case, here is David, unedited and in his own words:“Dear Laura and LoriI would be grateful if you could distribute this statement tothe fans of Twilight:I would like to address some statements that I made regarding Twilight. When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart.Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created.I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve. Please be rest assured this statement is absolutely from the heart.yours sincerelyDAVID SLADE”
