Six years ago, Stephenie Meyer had a dream. That dream was one in which... two people were having an intense conversation in a meadow in the woods. One of these people was just your average girl. The other person was fantastically beautiful, sparkly, and a vampire. They were discussing the difficulties inherent in the facts that A) they were falling in love with each other while B) the vampire was particularly attracted to the scent of her blood, and was having a difficult time restraining himself from killing her immediately.
Needless to say, this dream inspired Meyer's work on the best-seller Twilight. That book turned into four, and is now turning into at least three major motion pictures - all of which are celebrated by millions.
It's lucky for us, Meyer's dream did not flitter away with the breaking of daylight upon her eyes, and she took to penning the experience right away (and, it seems, didn't stop for quite some time). So, happy birthday, Twilight dream! May you live in eternal infamy.
Six years from the beginning of a revolution...
